Flix is based on an illustrated book by the famous author, illustrator and human rights activist, Tomi Ungerer. Flix was published in 1996, when Tomi was awarded the coveted Hans Christian Anderson prize for children’s literature.
Two of Tomi’s many children’s books, The Three Robbers (Les Trois Brigands/Die Drei Rauber) and Moonman (Jean de la Lune, Der Mondmann) have been made into feature files, but Flix is the first of his books to be adapted into a series. Tomi has sold 16 million books worldwide and translated into 40 languages and his books are taught on the school curriculum in France and Germany.
